                                                                               Sample Videos

Everyone likes a free show, and we are no exception.  So here is a way to see some bird videos.

If you are shopping for stock footage, the four samples on this page will give you an idea of what our material is like.  We are
now using Vimeo to hold our sample clips.  Clips were compressed via Quicktime H.264 or DivX before uploading to Vimeo.  Although this preserves quality, the superior sharpness of the original material is apparent.

If you want to see more video in a small-size streamed format, we have over 50 clips of North American birds on the Internet Bird Collection

To watch these clips you must have a recent version of Window Media Player. If you don't, you can download it free by clicking here:

                                                    Download Windows Media Player

Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, the download can take a while.

        Looking for High Definition?

 Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus).

Watch this noisy bird as he drills into a  dead tree in three tight shots.  4:3 aspect ratio provides a closer approach to this vertically oriented bird. 24 seconds. Standard definition.

Snowy Egret (Egretta thula)

Three different individuals fishing on-the-fly. Scenes were shot in real time but slowed to 50%speed to enhance the grace of these birds. 16:9 aspect ratio helps with the horizontal motion.
32 seconds.  Standard definition.

Chestnut-sided Warbler (Dendroica castanea)

Springtime in the Blue Ridge Mountains is the perfect season to find warblers not hidden by leaves.  A rainy day only intensifies the colors. Video is unmatched in its ability to shoot small birds close up. 24 seconds. Standard definition.

Tundra Swan (Cygnus columbianus)

Swans taking to the air are one of the most beautiful sights in
nature.  Because they "telegraph" before going, it's easy to be
ready for them.  This scene was slowed down 20% to enhance the motion. 21 seconds.  Standard definition.
